A Brief Conversation about Leadership

Leaders are the face of organizations. In the social impact sector, we believe that leaders hold the role to make connections with people, offer support, and become involved with the people who can help create change. Good leaders should have a strong sense of the organization’s culture and values that they bring into practice in daily life, they should be humble yet conscious about the power they hold, and always look for innovative ways to reach their goals.

Good leaders take people in directions that they would not have originally gone. Leaders are not only people who are on top of the organizations but are also committed to take small responsibilities that will help to create a better environment and society. Leaders realize that they are a part of a puzzle and are only capable of creating change when they work with others.

We realized that there are different kinds of leaders. There are those who are born or who are made, positional or indigenous. There are also people who become a leader through thrust-giving, those who are addressed to take responsibilities for their communities or people who do not necessarily go through what. Despite these differences, we agreed that there is no particular kind that is better than the others.
